After grandpa died and everyone was looking through their house for items of interest (teehee), Ryan & I found a card game that no one else wanted. It's called "R-O-Y-A-L-T-Y" and it is a word game much like scrabble, except with cards instead of tiles. So we opened it up tonight to play it. We figured this would be a fun way to honor grandma & grandpa. Except that the game had clearly never been played. Apparently they didn't enjoy it. Ha ha. So if any of you ever gave them this game, sorry...
We, however, really enjoyed playing it! The rules are pretty intense and a bit complicated at times, but never fear... Ryan, the true carrier of the Scott name lived up to your familial reputation of kicking rear end at games and trounced me by almost 100 points. Darn.
In other news: I (Katelynn) made it successfully through my first year of teaching and am spending my summer on the couch, reading good books. I've read 16 pleasure books (books I read for fun, NOT Kama-Sutra or something like that...) since June 1st and have a pile of at least 12 more on my night stand waiting. Ryan has finished attending the various in-class sessions of the courses he took this summer, but it still working on the papers and research which go along with those classes. He's hoping to be done with all of his paper writing by this upcoming Sunday (June 29th) so that we can leave to go on vacation to New England totally care-free. We're visiting Mark & Cindy in Quicy, some of Beth's family in Vermont and my family on Cape Cod. We can't wait!
So here's to fun games and happy, life-long marriages!
